Description
This is an excellent switch.
It has 10G uplinks
It is relatively well priced for Juniper and is line rate.
Nothing is field replaceable though.
Remember this switch only stacks with other EX3300 using the 10G ports.

This is one power supply.
Nothing is field replaceable.
Models and part numbers
These are the simple guys
24 port non PoE
24 port PoE
same thing with 48 ports.
These are the same but TAA,
TAA - Trade Agreement Act
When you sell to the USA government in a contract over the sum of $194,000 the products must comply with TAA. This means they are
mostly produced or modified in the USA or a country that has a reciprocal trade agreement with the USA.
{China and most notable electronic makers are absent }
So basically, the parts are the same parts as a regular EX3300 but it is assembled in the USA, this will add 20% or less to the cost of each item.
Notice, when selling to the government of the USA you MUST use TAA.
DC powered built into the switch.
EX3300-24T-DC
EX3300-24T-DC-TAA

EX3300 TAA, 48-port 10/100/1000BaseT with 4 SFP+ 1/10G uplink ports, back-to-front cooling
In this switch it is built in.
So nothing to buy to get uplinks unlike Cisco or the old EX3200
Layer 3 routing protocols support
Each of these switches can be upgraded to support Layer 3.
There are two levels with the EX3300
EFL which is the first.
AFL which is the highest level {BGP}
**** important AFL requires you buy EFL too in order to work.
Features Requiring a License on EX3300 Switches
Bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD)
Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) dense mode, PIM source-specific mode, PIM sparse mode
Q-in-Q tunneling (IEEE 802.1ad)
OSPFv1/v2 (with four active interfaces)
IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) version 1 (IGMPv1) and IGMPv2
Back to front is used a lot when you want to connect the management ports on a server that has IPMI or similar.
The ports will be in the back of the server
so to shorten the distance you simply flip the switch. Which requires this airflow.
Uplinks
On the right bottom corner you have an uplink module.

To get an EFL/AFL license please provide the Serial number of the switch.
show chassis hardware
then reach out to your representative, if you don't have one let me know.
They will be able to generate the required license.
Power Cords
These power cords are pretty simple.
They are C13 on one side.
the other side will depend on the country.
If you need a different length or if you come from a country not on this list.
You can use a third party cable. We can provide this.
*By default the switch comes with 1 cable for the country it is being sold to.
Mounting the switch.
Wall mounting it
EX-WMK-BFL
EX4200, EX4300, EX3200, EX3300 and EX2200 Wall Mount Kit with Baffle
I have no idea what the baffle kit is for
I will have to reach out to Juniper for this.
I guess it has something to do with airflow.
or you could say I am baffled : )
Desktop.
2 Post or 4 post using 2 of the posts.
EX-RMK
EX Series Rack Mount Kit
This kit is included when you buy a switch, if you lost it you can order the above.
4 post attached to all 4 posts.
EX-4PST-RMK
Adjustable 4-post rack-mount kit for EX and QFX5100
4 post in an iDATAPLEX rack. {These are made by IBM only}
Ports.
The EX3300
EX-4PST-RMK-DPX
4-post Rack Mount Kit for EX3200, EX4300 and EX4200 for iDataplex rack
Has the following ports.
24/48 ports PoE or regular.
4* SFP+ ports 1/10G built in
1 management port RJ-45
1 Console port rollover
1 console port USB
1 RPS port for connecting to an RPS
Optics
Supported SFPs are
I've arranged this by the chances of someone ordering them
1 Gbps optics.
T is copper
SX is multimode
For singlemode ask for the distance to verify which one.
100 speed optics also called FE
EX-SFP-1FE-FX
EX-SFP-1FE-LX
EX-SFP-1FE-LX40K
SFP 100Base-FX Fast Optics, 1310nm for 2km transmission on MMF
SFP 100base-LX Fast Optics, 1310nm for 10km transmission on SMF
SFP FE 100base-LX Fast Optics, 1550nm for 40km transmission on SMF
These are mainly for backward compatibility to very old devices.
CWDM optics
CWDM allows you to use eight active wavelengths. So basically 8 people can send on the same fiber cable.
Each of the above works in one wavelength and the other side must have the same optic wavelength.
Single Strand
Single strand allows a client to get 1 Gbps of traffic on a single fiber cable.
So for example if the client has 1 Fiber cable
He can double the throughput he can run on it by using single strand technology.
So instead of 1Gbps of traffic, he can run 2Gbps. Blue will be receive and red will be send.
Anyway, I doubt many people are smart enough to use this and both sides must support the SFP technology.
There is a USB port.
The USB port supports 1G , 2G ,4G
RE-USB-1G-S
RE-USB-2G-S
RE-USB-4G-S
USB media upgrade/spare for RE
2GB USB media upgrade/spare for RE
4GB USB media upgrade/spare for RE
The console port is a rollover RJ-45 it is active.
The Management port is a regular RJ-45 and can't route
The Mini USB is another console port and requires the
EX-CBL-CON-USB
Console Cable with USB Type A and mini-B connectors for EX2200-C
Support options are.
Next Day Ship, this applies only to (AVAILABLE FOR BRAZIL, RUSSIA, INDIA, AND CHINA ONLY)
and means that they will ship it the next day, not when it arrives.
The support changes by country.
If your client is looking to save a little more.
Juniper has 3 year pre-paid bundles.
If and only if your client has 10 units or more.
He can get a site license.
For example if you are a school, where you mount these under the desks.
You can save a lot of money and get a site license.
All the units at the site must have this applied to them.

Juniper Care 5 Year Prepaid Core NETWORK LICENSE for EX3300
Juniper Care 3YR Prepaid Core NETWORK LICENSE for EX3300
The Juniper options of support are listed below in this slide.
RPS - Redundant power system.
As you noticed the EX2200 has one power supply.
To avoid it stopping to work with power loss etc.
The Juniper team offer you the option of sourcing an external RPS.
The setup will look like the image above with the RPS being backup power supply.
One RPS can power up to 6 switches : ex3300 and ex2200 switches.
The RPS can have up to three EX-PWR3-930-AC
The RPS port on the EX 2200 is covered with a metal cover, simply remove the screws.
The RPS ports on the RPS are also covered so simply remove the one you need.
Then connect an RPS cable.
The part numbers are
Chassis
EX-RPS-PWR
External Redundant power system(RPS) for power supply redundancy; includes one RPS cable and two power supply slot blank covers (power supply to be ordered separately)
or
EX-RPS-PWR-930-AC
External Redundant power system(RPS) for power supply redundancy; includes one RPS cable, two power supply slot blank covers and one 930W AC power supply

EX-PWR3-930-AC
930W AC Power Supply with PoE+ Capability for EX4200, EX3200 and EX-RPS-PWR-930-AC (Power Cord needs to be ordered separately)
For each power supply you must order a power cord. Pay attention.
Cables
Cable to connect the EX to the RPS. {The cable is 1.5 meters}
EX-RPS-CBL
RPS cable for EX3300 and EX2200 switches
Spares
Now, in case your client threw away his blank that covers the power supply and wants a replacement.
If your client wants he can rack mount the RPS using the same rack mounts as the switches.
EX-RPS-PWR-BLNK
Blank for RPS PSU slot (spare)
EX-RMK
EX-4PST-RMK
EX Series Rack Mount Kit
