Description
This is an excellent modular switch and is the latest 1G data center grade switch.
It has modular uplinks {1 or 10G}
Everything is field replaceable.
It runs Virtual Chassis using a QSFP+ ports instead of some proprietary technology.
It can stack with the QFX family instead of the EX4500/4550
Redundant power
Reversible airflow.

Models and part numbers
These are the simple guys
24 port non PoE
24 port PoE
same thing with 48 ports.
These are the same but TAA,
TAA - Trade Agreement Act
When you sell to the USA government in a contract over the sum of $194,000 the products must comply with TAA. This means they are
mostly produced or modified in the USA or a country that has a reciprocal trade agreement with the USA.
{China and most notable electronic makers are absent }
So basically, the parts are the same parts as a regular EX3300 but it is assembled in the USA, this will add 20% or less to the cost of each item.
Notice, when selling to the government of the USA you MUST use TAA.
DC powered built into the switch.
so 48 port DC
48 port back to front {back being the PSU side front the port side}
same thing with TAA
SFP port switches
EX4300-32F
EX4300-32F-DC
EX4300, 32-port 1000BaseX SFP , 4x10GBaseX SFP+ , 2x40GBaseX QSFP+ and 350W AC PS
EX4300, 32-port 1000BaseX SFP , 4x10GBaseX SFP+, 2x40GBaseX QSFP+
The above use SFP instead of RJ-45 ports.
They are used to aggregate older switches.
There is a DC model at the DC section above and a regular 32 port.
BACK to FRONT
EX4300-48T-AFI
EX4300-48T-AFI-TAA
EX4300, 48-port 10/100/1000BaseT back-to-front airflow
EX4300 TAA, 48-port 10/100/1000BaseT + 350W AC PS(Airflow in)
these are the back to front, remember you usually use them when running the out of band network to manage the switches.
*** in general if you are really bored, you can buy a 24 port switch with reverse power supply and fan and then make your own
24 reversed airflow switch. #toomuchfreetime.
Uplinks
On the right bottom corner you have an uplink module.
The module can be
EX4300-UM-BLNK
EX-UM-4X4SFP
EX4300 blank faceplate for Uplink Module slot (Spare)
EX4300 4-port 1GbE/10GbE SFP+ Uplink Module for EX4300-24/48 DC and AC
By default you get the blank faceplate.
Modular modules

EX4300, 32-port 1000BaseX SFP , 4x10GBaseX SFP+ , 2x40GBaseX QSFP+ and 350W AC PS
EX4300, 32-port 1000BaseX SFP , 4x10GBaseX SFP+, 2x40GBaseX QSFP+
allow you the option of modularity.
They basically offer you 32 ports {2} and the options
of modularity and adding something to slot {1}
The slot {1} can hold
EX-UM-2QSFP
EX-UM-8X8SFP
EX4300 2-port 40GbE QSFP+ Uplink Module for EX4300-32F and EX4300-32F-DC
EX4300 8-port 1GbE/10GbE SFP+ Uplink Module for EX4300-32F and EX4300-32F-DC
Layer 3 routing protocols support
To use the following features on the EX4300 switches, you must install an EFL:
Bidirectional Forwarding Detection (BFD)
Connectivity fault management (IEEE 802.1ag)
IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol) version 1 (IGMPv1), IGMPv2, and IGMPv3
Multicast Source Discovery Protocol (MSDP)
OSPFv2/v3
Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM) dense mode, PIM source-specific mode, PIM sparse mode
Real-time perfomance monitoring (RPM)
RIPng (RIP next generation)
Unicast reverse-path forwarding (RPF)
Virtual Router
Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)
Each of these switches can be upgraded to support Layer 3 routing protocols {except for BGP}
Each of these switches can be upgraded to support Layer 3.

To get an EFL/AFL license please provide the Serial number of the switch.
show chassis hardware
then reach out to your representative, if you don't have one let me know.
They will be able to generate the required license.
Power Cords
this switch is a little different.
So DC doesn't have a power cord.
AC does.
AC 350W and 715 W use C13
These power cords are pretty simple.
They are C13 on one side.
the other side will depend on the country.
If you need a different length or if you come from a country not on this list.
You can use a third party cable. We can provide this.
*By default the switch comes with 1 cable for the country it is being sold to.
the 1100W uses C15
C15 has a groove.
By the way 48 port Poe is the only 1100W
Mounting the switch.

I will have to reach out to Juniper for this.
I guess it has something to do with airflow.
or you could say I am baffled : )

Yes, the 32 port switch only has 2 QSFP+ ports.
I have no idea why, don't ask me.
Juniper must hire professional obscurefercers. {people who obscure stuff}
Optics
Supported SFPs are
I've arranged this by the chances of someone ordering them
1 Gbps optics.
T is copper
SX is multimode
For singlemode ask for the distance to verify which one.
100 speed optics also called FE
EX-SFP-1FE-FX
EX-SFP-1FE-LX
EX-SFP-1FE-LX40K
SFP 100Base-FX Fast Optics, 1310nm for 2km transmission on MMF
SFP 100base-LX Fast Optics, 1310nm for 10km transmission on SMF
SFP FE 100base-LX Fast Optics, 1550nm for 40km transmission on SMF
These are mainly for backward compatibility to very old devices.
CWDM optics
CWDM allows you to use eight active wavelengths. So basically 8 people can send on the same fiber cable.
Each of the above works in one wavelength and the other side must have the same optic wavelength.
Single Strand
Single strand allows a client to get 1 Gbps of traffic on a single fiber cable.
So for example if the client has 1 Fiber cable
He can double the throughput he can run on it by using single strand technology.
So instead of 1Gbps of traffic, he can run 2Gbps. Blue will be receive and red will be send.
Anyway, I doubt many people are smart enough to use this and both sides must support the SFP technology.
QSFP+ cables
QSFP+ optics
QFX-QSFP-40G-SR4
QFX-QSFP-40G-ESR4
JNP-QSFP-40G-LR4
QSFP+ 40GBase-SR4 40 Gigabit Optics, 850nm for up to 150m transmission on MMF
QSFP+ 40GBase-ESR4 40 Gigabit Optic. 300m(400m) with OM3(OM4) MMF
QSFP+ 40GBase-LR4 40 Gigabit Optics, 1310nm for up to 10km Transmission on SMF
There is a USB port.
The USB port supports 1G , 2G ,4G
RE-USB-1G-S
RE-USB-2G-S
RE-USB-4G-S
USB media upgrade/spare for RE
2GB USB media upgrade/spare for RE
4GB USB media upgrade/spare for RE
Odd things.
Apparently there is a license to enable MACSEC
EX-QFX-MACSEC-ACC
MACSec Feature License on Access Switches - EX4300 and EX4200
The Mini USB is another console port and requires the

Spare or secondary power supplies
Spare fans for cold spare storage.

Support options are.
Next Day Ship, this applies only to (AVAILABLE FOR BRAZIL, RUSSIA, INDIA, AND CHINA ONLY)
and means that they will ship it the next day, not when it arrives.
The support changes by country.
If your client is looking to save a little more.
Juniper has 3 year pre-paid bundles.
If and only if your client has 10 units or more.
He can get a site license.
For example if you are a school, where you mount these under the desks.
You can save a lot of money and get a site license.
All the units at the site must have this applied to them.
