Knowing previous history we know Cisco discounts in percent are deeper than Palo alto
so for every firewall Palo Alto can offer you can offer a more cost effective Cisco.
So the first item is price.
You guys have Palo Alto at the location.
Those must have cost you an arm and a leg.
I think as of today they are by far the most expensive per Gbps in the market.
Usually a client will throw some technology Palo alto supports.
In each one you can counter.
Wildfire = AMP + threatgrid
management = firesight
Application visibility = everyone has this today
IPS = NGIPS
Did you see their NSS scores in 2015.
Cisco ranked number 1 with all 3 platforms
and Palo had a serious drop, they claimed some technical issue but NSS was having non of it at first.
To be honest Palo Alto had the same issue with NSS in 2014.

I like their firewall but I think most of it is hype, maybe in a few years they can stabilize and hopefully lower their prices.
