  • N7K or N77 = model of chassis the module can be installed – Nexus7000 or Nexus 7700

  • [Mx|Fx] = Forwarding engine model and generation – M1, M2, F2, F3, etc

  • [Number] = Number of front panel ports – 2, 6, 8, 12, 24, 32, 48

  • [Port Type] = Type of front panel ports – G=10/100/1000, X=10G, F=40G, C=100

  • [Physical Connector Type] T=RJ45, S=SFP, 2=X2, P=SFP+, Q=QSFP, F=CFP, K=CPAK

  • [Numbers] = Version of Fabric ASIC on the module + minimum number of fabric modules to support maximum throughput

  • [Letters] = Module specific attributes – L=Large table sizes*, E=Enhanced forwarding engine
