Dr Janelle Gwen Sheen

That's me! No No not the gentleman on the right. Rather he is an inspiration. Though I have to say I am working on more order on my desk. Yes I too need much around me, yet order and systems saves lots of time. Still the question of the empty desk remains!

I am influenced by previous training, formal training and informal self education.

My ultimate intention for my empowerment and educational practice is Life Enhancement. This is a practice that promotes health, wellbeing, life satisfaction, community involvement and contribution. It is about the generic skills that allow ongoing personal and professional development so that one can live a fulfilling and meaningful life. It is about building ones Personal Power. To this end I have a body mind approach that embraces energy management, positive psychology, lifelong learning, neuroplasticity, persona centric practice, Respectful intrapersonal, interpersonal, thinking and communication skills.

My key values, after Life itself, are Respect, Empowerment and Authenticity. Thus I promote and empower Respectful Practice. My strengths, as described by Seligman's approach, are Love of Learning, Fairness, Kindness and Forgiveness.

I see myself as a learning facilitator for the future, in a changing social context. Our society is changing in how we care for ourselves, connect with others, use knowledge and importantly paradigmatic mindset.

This important paradigm shift is one of transitioning from: control and dominance to co-operation and mutual benefits; separation to wholeness; logical dominance to valuing emotional and social intelligence. It is also the transition from traditional authority practices to Person Centric practices. The outcome of this transition will be greater personal fulfilment, wellbeing and life satisfaction, and importantly less violence.
