Dog Vomit

Itching ears go place to place

Seeking one who'll teach them grace

Knowing not just what they'll miss

By seeking not for righteousness

Much to their most grave mistake

Never hear the words Christ spake

"The Kingdom now is quite at hand

Repent and be a righteous man!"

Condemning those who lived out works

For shows and simply self-serve perks

He claimed their hearts of rotten trash

That won't escape a Godly wrath

And like a dog to vomit turn

We eat it up and never learn

We preach that Christ was mad and grim

For simply not believing him

We turn against the words Christ spoke

As anti-Christs in blood-stained cloak

Christ says die to self and serve

But we kill him and self preserve

Christ says only those who do

The will of God is right and true

He taught these words which got him killed

But Christians now by this are thrilled

Instead of heeding Christ's advice

We simply claim he paid the price

His words are now completely naught

He came to die and thus we're bought!

Who's the wise and faithful one

Who loves the words of God's great son

And follows them with all his heart

And acting like one set apart?

And who's the foolish dog with ears

Who loves a scratch yet never hears

Delighting in a murderous crowd

Disowning righteousness aloud?

It's rather simple plainly said

Some like Christ to be stone dead

While others love to just obey

And serve him as alive today

Would not the anti-Christs be those

Who love Christ dead and don't suppose

That maybe what he taught still stands

And of their sin do wash their hands?

Think about it, it's no joke

Kingdoms rise as Jesus spoke

The battle's lost or so it seems

So who are you? Of which two teams?
