"I Do It"

• • Teacher-guided: Top-down approach

    • The focus must be present

      • What is the purpose of the lesson for student learning

  • This is where teachers model how they have approached a problem or situation

  • Emphasis on metacognition

    • Thinking about thinking

    • Why we do this and how

  • Teacher model approach

    • Teachers must use “I” statements

  • Students may add in to the teacher, however it is important at this stage not to assume that all students understand how to interact with the learning engagements. Some students may not need modelling, even if others do.
