Indirect instruction is simply more student-centered instruction, where the teacher creates the learning objectives but involves the students more than in direct instruction (Burden & Byrd 2016). The teacher then becomes more of a guide and a resource than a dispenser of information, allowing students to create knowledge by enacting on their knowledge (ibid.).
