Independent instructional approach takes the students as the center focus of learning and the teacher is limited in the process, as a support for the student. Independent instruction often revolves around the student. There is a strategy where students complete and learn the material because they are self driven to complete the material in their own learning style and at their own pace. The student is left to learn the material on their own and given only guidelines from the teacher. Many instructional approaches such as Project based learning, inquiry based learning and learning centers are used in this student centered approach that focus a students learning on what they would like to study from the material. Pear Tree Education (2013) explains Independent instructional approach and how to establish an instructional approach.Â
