A Gartcosh Laddie - THE CAMERON HIGHLANDER
Just over one month later on 12 September 1914 young Charles Mulholland enlisted at Gartcosh
On 4th August, 1914 Great Britain declared war on Germany.
Our young hero, the Cameron Highlander.
Charles was sent to France on 18 January 1915.....to the trenches of the Western Front.
The above will, a poignant reminder of a young life lost , made just months before his death, clearly shows the family address as 5,BISHOP PLACE, GARTCOSH.... the address no longer exists - The Thomas Mitchell estate is built on land which once included Bishop Place.
