Homepage

Hi. This site provides access to my log of bushwalking and cross country ski trips undertaken over the last 12 years. It provides logs and photos of trips along the AAWT, Larapinta Trail, Bibbulmun, Heysen Trail, Kakadu, Kimberley, Wilderness Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollemi, Kosciuszko Main Range, The Kerries, Cobberras, and Black Allan Line. It also contains info on trips in New Zealand, Mongolia, Peru, Le Tour du Mount-Blanc, and the Pyrenees Haute Route. It is primarily for my own use, but you are welcome to browse it, just heed the note of caution below!

10 June 2021 UPDATE: I'm in the midst of updating my site. As a result I have revised a number of documents / webpages, including:

  • gear and food lists

  • Backcountry Ski Tours in Australia PART A The Jagungal Wilderness.

The logs are not meant to be exhaustive, but rather to provide easy access to the more interesting overnight and extended trips I've done. As with similar sites, a word of caution is required, the GPS maps / tracks are to the best of my ability correct, but I do this on a part time basis, and would much rather be out there then stuck behind a computer fiddling with files....so take care and exercise common sense....if it looks like a cliff.....odds are it is one!

Home at last....the end of AAWT 2

LATEST TRIP

I will be xc skiing in the Kosi backcountry, starting with a 14 day trip from Munyang Power Station to Grey Mare Hut area - Dershkos - Jagungal - Mackays - Broken Dam Hut area - Boobee - Tin Hut area - exit for a birthday party - return for another 2 week tour. The snow conditions will define my final route, but I will be checking in nightly with my Garmin InReach and leaving log book entries on my next destination. Later on in the season, I am planning an extended trip onto the Main Range once spring conditions return. The menu sub-page "Backcountry Ski Tours in Australia" documents a number of routes I regularly take through the central corridor along the Kerries.
