Carbon dioxide emission benchmarks of domestic water consumption in Hong Kong

Brief:

This study proposes a simple benchmarking model for domestic water consumption correlated with its corresponding carbon dioxide (CO₂) emission. The model was tested with a survey of average water consumption in 60 apartments of Hong Kong. The results were compared with the global fresh water consumption patterns to derive the water consumption and CO₂ emission benchmarks for residential buildings in the region.
