Liturgy is a set of acts prescribed by ritual, ceremony, or observance and comes from the Greek word for "people work" or "work of the people." Also the word comes from the Greek words meaning "public worship" and has come now to be known as the form of rite or religious services prescribed by various Christian churches. In the Catholic religion, for example, liturgy in various forms in public worship centers on the Eucharistic sacrifice, while Protestants focus on the sermon in their formal worship. This section of our website encourages all to explore how they can do good works in and outside the formal places of worship in our community. Links are provided to community churches, organizations, and information about little known religious groups including the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and commentary on personal spirituality.
