Why study this? Least studied, most important? Mind is the only bio psycho social variable of Wellness, health & happiness that 1. Has a central role, as being creator, evaluator & sustainer, 2. The only constant in an every changing world & body, 3. Unique to you, 4. Always present, available & accessible, 5. Most controllable & changeable factor [Mind= the “big Mind” Mm=Mmc2]
1. Intentions matter! Positive intentions are those that are in the best interest of everyone & everything, that lead to health, happiness, & wellness. Intentions generated by every thought, feeling & act have effects that a. cause the same, i.e. positive to positive, negative to negative, b. grow with time, c. always returns, attracting the same, d. never exist without a cause. [Great Law] Destructive disordered feelings attract the same,& return to the sender to cause destruction and disorder. Not punishment, morality, judgment, but, an equalizer, to balance, for “ease”, order vs. [dis-ease, dis-order], Mistaken Truth of Reality”, Error, not bad, Newton’s 3rd, Doppler
2. You attract to you what you are, not what you want! What you are is defined by your thoughts, feeling, intentions, & acts. Your mind Creates who you are and “your” world by taking what you are and then attracting the same. What you are today is due to yesterday, today determines who you are tomorrow. You may want health but if your mind is not in “order” or not at “ease” because it is in a “negative” state, [not in the best interest rule] it will Create “dis-orders”& “dis-ease” What causes this negative mind state? Ita unconscious nature & our distortions [esp. big vs. little self-] of reality. Things go unconscious because a. we are unaware that we are unaware, being on autopilot, b. the effects of feelings. Feelings a. e”motion”s move the mind to be too slow, fast or stuck, b. pulls us off the present distracting us from evaluating the effects of thoughts, being more interested in the quality of the feeling [it feels good, it must be& in my best interest], c. this quality interest distorts reality making it more positive or negative or neutral than it really is, d. creates just enough gap to allow thoughts to fall into it & out of conscious awareness. [Perception/ conception] e. Permanence- Separate- We “fall in love” [ego, self-love= separateness, fear, sadness, anger-drain life force] with our thoughts, & ourselves based on emotions seeing what we want to see, overvaluing, denying, ignoring getting energized, slowed down or stuck as we forget [creating negative reality] rather than seeing the true positive reality [ego selfless love=connectedness, acceptance, sharing, happiness- build life force]
3. What you resist will persist! & gets stronger, as it drains Wellness energy. Big 3 a. Resist staying in the present-not seeing intentions & effects, b. resist letting go of unhealthy attachments[ work, study, people, things, thoughts] c. resist Humbly accepting negatives, instead avoiding, denying, ignoring & somaticizing. Pain- necessary, suffering-optional!
4. Wherever you go there you are! Your mind is the only constant in an every changing body & Growing -expanding world. Wellness- all healing is self-healing. Train your creative healing mind by meditating & being mindful. Don’t change people, places things, instead change your mind. Biggest positive view= connected changing impermanent compassionate self. [self-destructive behavior/suicide]
5. Wellness as the world & people around us reflect, or Mirror, the good & bad in us. Finding fault, blaming, judging is setting you up to get the same in return. Whenever there is something wrong, there is something wrong in us. Look in the Mirror, and see what you have in your mind and who you really are, & Ask, - What did I do to cause this? What am I doing to keep it going? What can I do to make it better? 7 mirrors of moment, judgment, loss, first love, creator, darkness, compassion
6. Wellness is Connected & in Synchrony with the well being of everything & everybody- connected by energy, thought & matter. As I help or hurt you or anything I also help or hurt myself. In me is some of you, in you is some of me. What’s good for you is the same for me. Disconnection in mind-body-relationships lead = imbalance & suffering. Biggest negative=separate permanent self
7. Wellness increases with single point wholesome Focus = relaxed, effortless, no expectation quiet spacious mind [Meditative Mind]. Mind can only have one Focus, Direction, Intention at a time. Multitasking = suffering, exhaustion & inefficiency. Can’t think of good things & be helpful, & at the same time feel bad & not be helped. Love-hate may rapidly alternate but not exist at the same time.
8. Whatever you think is true, good & in the best interest of all, like Wellness, you will be called on to prove, by living it, teaching it, or Giving it. Strong belief systems good or bad will sooner or latter get you in a situation where you will be forced to prove them right or wrong e.g., Wellness/life no matter what, is worth having, [Suicide]
9 Wellness is most Present when we are most Present, staying in the, Here & Now, as we accept it & allow it to unfold without interference. Learn from the past, but let go of it, to live in the now. This presence is mindfulness, sustaining it is meditation. Controlling or changing the present before you understand =disconnections, with poor healing cause/effect, past or future = depression & anxiety.
10. The only constants are Change/Impermanence & Mind, making possible life, health & happiness. They must be accepted, allowed, understood and nurtured. More things change, the more they stay the same. New has old, old has new. Everything is wave like, coming then going away. Wellness, ease, dis-ease, ability, dis- ability follow this rule. The 7 F’s- Go with the flow, find the breath, follow it, feel it, make it your exclusive Present focus, float on it, free of thinking, over & over, shifts from thinking to Creative intuitive, healing Wellness mind. [Breath-Meditation][analytic vs placement, object=breath for concentration vs impermance/connectedness]
11. Be Patient, do what you should, & every small step to Wellness will be Rewarded in its own time.
