1.12.11 part 6 Why do Mindfulness Meditation?
Mindfulness meditation is a form of mental training where the process is the goal.
The process will help you feel better , happier as you learn more to help and heal yourself and others.
Thus the simple answer is because it can lead to you be happier and healthier.
How does it do that? By helping you know more about reality, that is seeing everything and everybody as they really are without emotional and thinking distortions, based on past experience and conditioning and future wishes and expectations. The actual process of doing and practicing mindfulness its psychology and view of the world, and sustaining it though meditation lead to the building blocks needed for increased health, happiness and to develop wisdom into the true nature of things and people.
Here is a partial list of what you main gain: more alert and aware of what is really going on, a better concentrated and stable mind, be calmer and more relaxed, have a general ease, sense of security and peace of mind, be smarter about really matters, and with all this have the emotional energy and power to help and heal yourself and others.
1. Increased alertness and awareness being more and more Zoned In. Being aware of and staying in the present moment being tuned in to the waves of reality that are within us and surround us and connect us to everything, that is being Zoned In rather than being Zoned Out.
2. Increased levels of concentration and mental stability and endurance. Developing increasing levels of concentration that will keep you in The Zone and stabilize your mind, and as a side effect coming into contact with some very pleasant feelings and sensations, better than any drug or other experiences based on outer conditions.
3. An ever growing calmer mind and relaxed body. A sense of mental calm and body relaxation will become available to you so you can take a instant rest a little or big mental vacation when ever you want or need again not dependent on others or outside conditions. You will be able to effortless relax into the stillness of being.
4. An evenness of mental state and emotions leading to peace of mind. An even mental state will be developed that accepts and allows reality to run its course that you can endure the pains of life with less suffering, and the joys without being frustrated and disappointed when you cant have more, protecting you from rebound unhappiness, depression, laziness, boredom and addictions. The neutral and the boring will become interesting revealing hidden treasures of knowledge , energy and feelings.
5. Access to information and knowledge previously inaccessible to you. As you become more mindfully aware, and Zone in, with new more powerful concentration, and as your mind is more and more stabilized and calm, and as you are accepting and allowing more and more of reality to reveal itself, regardless of its generated feeling tone, positive, negative or neutral, you will gain access to previously inaccessible knowledge in your conscious, unconscious and supra conscious mind, with less and less blocks and more and more connections between the thinking doing mind and the feeling sensing experiencing being mind. You will be learning more and more about the true nature of reality in the present moment, seeing both the surface and deeper reality in a more and more clearer manner, and experience the motivating and driving instincts, sensations, feelings, moods and intuitions that are driving your body, mind a behavior. You will gradually experience and accept and allow the wave like nature of all reality, that everything, arises, and you will allow it to come, allow it to be for its chosen time, and allow it pass away, as you let it go. You will further realize that paired with this arising, being and passing away is a necessary and predictable interconnectedness and interdependence in form and function, in all of reality , in what you and others feel, think and do.
6. Growing levels of healthy emotional energy and power to help and heal your self and others leading to unconditional happiness. With this growing knowledge and insights in the true nature of reality you will simultaneously gain access into the minds power and energy as it relates to your self and others, with growing wishes , needs and capacity to understand and help yourself and others, feeling the joy and sufferings , and wanting to further understand, experience, help and heal. You will grow in love, kindness, gentleness, compassion and sympathetic joy, being better and better being able to give and share these attributes.
