Rosters 

All transfer athletes be declared to the eligibility committee before September 5th of each year. (Undergrad, USA transfers with 1yr to 4yrs in USA). 

Note: Post-grads and Red Shirts should be noted on full roster submissions.

CURA team full rosters to be submitted to the eligibility committee by September 30th of each year. These rosters must be in a spreadsheet format and sent by email to the VP Eligibility or the Eligibility Committee database designate.

Submission of Entries

All entries will be submitted via Regatta Central.


Order of Events

There are 30' between Events and 10' between races to accommodate for "A", "B"and "C" Finals depending on number of entries. 

*All times in Pacific Standard Time

*The order of Time Trials will follow in the order of the Finals as listed above. 

* Where applicable - daylight savings time will adjust the racing schedule by one hour from Time Trial to Finals. 

* The Final for Open Men's 2x and Open Women's 2x is yet to be determined. 


 Rules and Regulations 

All Rules and Regulations can be found on the Canadian University Rowing Association website (click here).

All RCA Rules of racing shall apply with the exception of the manner in which lighweights weigh in.  That detail can be found in section F of the Rules and regulations. 


Registration

All athletes must register with a valid form of picture ID.  Registration will be held on Friday from 12:00 - 4:30 pm in the Medical/Board Room at Elk Lake.

Photo ID will not be required at launch.  All fees must be paid online before registration commences. 

All programs will be required to pay their $150.00 registration fee as well as $85.00 per athlete participating.

A test scale will be available in the boathouse  for lightweight athletes and coxswains.  

Sat/Sunday weigh in will open at 7:30 am -8:30 am for LW and 8:00 am - 9:00 am for LM

Trailers 

Trailer parking will be managed in the lower parking lot.  Trailers may arrive and will be allocated parking space on the Wednesday  preceding the championship.  Please notify the host organization via Regattta Central if you are bringing a trailer. 

*All Handicapped parking stalls must be kept clear at all times, regardless of trailer parking.

Course, Training and Racing Flow Patterns 

The Elk Lake course will be a buoyed 1875m course.  

All training and racing flow patterns can be found on the Regatta Central website. 

Flow patterns will also be posted  in the highway side fire lane you use to access the docks. 

 Programs launching crews will be required to provide a safety launch for their crew while they are on the water.

Training will be permitted 7:00am-7:45am on Sunday. A/B/C finals will begin in 10 minute intervals.  


Awards Nominations 

CURCs annually awards the Female and Male athlete of the year as well as the Female and Male Program Coach of the Year.  Nominations go in to the nomination committee before the event to start the discussion.  Coaches will meet 30 minutes after the last race of the event to vote on each award. 


Event Parking

Trailers will be parked in the lower lot with the Umpires. This will leave the upper lot for parking for athletes and spectators.  

Overflow parking is one parking lot over, or at the Hamsterly Beach parking access.  Please leave yourself adequate time to park, or arrange for a shuttle style process. 


Therapy

The Spracklen Room will be a designated therapy area.  No athletes will be allowed to congregate in the Spracklen room for privacy reasons.

Sports Information

Contacts

Name and e-mails of any sports information contacts (or team contacts) should be provided prior to Vikes Sports Information Coordinator (vicvikes@uvic.ca) by Oct. 25. These will be the e-mails that all live feed information, results, recaps, photos and any other important information will be sent to.

Media Accreditation

All media and school communications officers, please send an e-mail notification to the Vikes Sports Information Coordinator (vicvikes@uvic.ca), with their full name, affiliation and type of media (University Sports Information Officer, TV, Print, etc.). Media Accreditation should be requested prior to Oct. 25th.

Photography

All participating schools should send a high resolution team photo (Men and Women separate), individual athlete headshots, and 3-4 action photos (labelled with athlete name(s)) to Vikes Sports Information Coordinator (vicvikes@uvic.ca) prior to Oct. 25. 

There will be a live feed and photographers on site for the event. Links will be sent to the contacts provided above.

The CURA meeting will be held on the University of Victoria Campus at CARSA in the CanAssist Board Room.   All notifications for the CURA AGM can be found on the CURA website under AGM Documents.  Anybody new to the organization can look in previous years information to bring themselves up to speed.
