Push-in / co-teaching

2) Have a Notebook for notes for push-in classes. Discussion with teacher notes, notes about students, etc. go in this book. Put post-its in the notebooks for the co-teaching classes and knock out the things that I have to do based on observations in class and teacher talks

9) Regularly go over PowerSchool data for the cats in your co-teaching (push-in) classes in order to spot trends, check areas for re-teaching, etc.

13) Make things more visible in the co-teaching classes. That means making posters and what not to help students see it. Also making intro talks into Powerpoints, etc.

37) Pyramid planning with co-teaching (push-in) action

- this is maybe on the two-tiered situation at this point. What do you want everyone to get from this unit. What do you want 80-90% of the people to get from the lesson. And then at times, what is like 10% of the students, gifted cats, what will they be able to do. This is something I want to do more of

47) Don’t forget to use the “Tiered Activity Template” when co-planning and maybe even planning for the writing class. I think this came from the Co-teaching book that you read last summer.

78) I considered Cycle Planning for Flemings (push-in) class for the little things I’m doing. That would be a good idea…and it means that you are on top of things and holding it down.

80) Stay up on work samples in your push-ins…..you need to know why some cats aren’t doing so hot….and check out exemplars and do what you have to do.

81) I can use PowerSchool Admin to look at teachers gradebooks…..I can even play with the data to show kids what they could have gotten, etc.…..but it won’t change the grade. It’s good times!

- this helps with your push ins so you can see how all the kids did on a quiz and you don’t have to bother a teacher

- this helps you with seeing how other students did on an assignment (i.e. teacher comes to you and shows you an F on a quiz, but you see that half the students that period got an F)

32) Stay on top of the math content n push-in classes. Watch the videos and read some stuff in book or do practice problems so you know what’s up. Not a lot, but enough

50) Offer deals with (regular education) students in push in class that are consistently struggling. For example, we do a quiz re-learn in Geometry and I tell the kids that if they score an 80 on the test I will write their name on a piece of paper graffiti style, do a stencil for them or a Photoshop piece……let them know what’s up

- Also I could offer on a smaller scale, detention passes and maybe some other stuff, some natural type reinforcers.

85) I add notes to the Outlook calendar that remind me to check in with all the different teachers that I’m trying to push-in with…..but have not the time or conflicting schedules.
