Professional Work

Over the years I have conducted some Professional Development (PD) and other trainings, and helped contribute to the field in other ways like writing articles and more.  I thought this would be a good place to share these resources.

Differentiating Assessment to Meet all Needs
This presentation is about how 8th grade math teachers and Learning Support differentiated the assessments based off the differentiation during the unit.

By focusing on readiness, content and more we were able to assess grade level standards at different levels as opposed to situations where assessments are given without these considerations and are then not reliable or valid due to barriers for some students (i.e. reading level, gaps in past knowledge, etc.)

Engaging all Learners with Push-in Support

Students need an appropriate challenge when it comes to content and learning activities. One way to do this is through push-in or co-teaching support from a learning support teacher. There are several co-teaching models and this presentation will discuss 6 key models, how they look, examples of how to implement, and discussion of how they are being implemented at ASFM (or more specifically in the 8th grade).
