For the 101st Chislehurst May Queen Crowning Ceremony, Avery Gooding was crowned May Queen with Isabella Regan as the Prince.
In a particularly wet Spring we couldn't totally avoid the rain, but fortunately it stayed dry for the crowning ceremony and dancing.
The marching band of T S Brilliant Sea Cadets led the parade, and we were also joined by Chislehurst Invicta Cub Scouts, who formed the Guard of Honour for the Queen and Prince
After the Crowning Ceremony the Retinue performed three traditional May Pole dances, and we were then treated to singing and dancing entertainment from Italia Conti.
Our VIP guests included Bromley & Chislehurst MP Sir Bob Neill, Counsellors Alison Stammers, Mark Smith and Mike Jack from Chislehurst Matters and the MP for Eltham, Clive Efford.
Following the ceremony the Retinue and guests retired to the traditional after-show tea party at Chislehurst Methodist Church.
Thank you to everybody who supported the planning and set-up for the day, and for all those who attended the procession and ceremony.
See you in 2025!
