2013

If you have any memories or photos of the Chislehurst May Queen from this year that you would like to share please contact us.

Thanks to everyone who attended and supported, with money, hard labour or applause for making it such a memorable day!

Alongside the traditional tea party there was a 90th Anniversary celebration in the beautiful surroundings of Chislehurst Methodist Church. After a few cups of tea and fortified by delicious sandwiches and home baking, the previous May Queens and Princes showed that they can still impress around the Maypole.

Also present were our Patron, Sir Roger Sims, and Mr Bob Neill, our local MP.

We were delighted to welcome back so many May Queens and Princes from previous years; every decade from the 50s was represented! Our President, Vera Quinn, presented this year's medals; the Morris Minors from Eltham College added a traditional display of Morris dancing to the proceedings; and Edgebury Youth Group performed a more contemporary dance for the May Queen.
