Chislehurst May Queen crowned

The sun shone brightly and we were blessed with a large crowd for the Centenary Chislehurst May Queen Crowning Ceremony.

Ceitidh Regan was crowned May Queen with Octavia Regan the May Prince.

The marching band of T S Brilliant Sea Cadets led the parade, and we were also joined by Chislehurst Invicta Cub Scouts, who formed the Guard of Honour for the Queen and Prince

After the Crowning Ceremony the Retinue performed four traditional May Pole dances, overseen by our dance teacher Miss Amelie Brooks (our 2019 May Queen) and we were then treated to more dance entertainment from Italia Conti.

Our VIP guests included Bromley & Chislehurst MP Sir Bob Neill, Alison Stammers and Mike Jack from Chislehurst Matters and the Bromley Deputy Mayor, Keith Onslow.

Following the after-show tea party at Chislehurst Methodist Church, a number of past May Queens joined members of the current retinue in revisiting their past for some impromptu may pole dancing!
