Welcome to our website

2023 is the 100th anniversary of the
Chislehurst May Queen Society

The Chislehurst May Queen Society was formed to maintain the tradition of crowning the Chislehurst May Queen on the first Saturday of May each year.

The Society was founded by Agnes Everist in 1923 and has crowned a May Queen every year since, apart from once during the Second World War.  We are proud of our history and the generations of Chislehurst girls who have mastered the traditional maypole dances.

We are grateful to the many individuals and organisations who continue to support us and help ensure this long-standing tradition continues.  Thanks!

We welcome new children to the retinue every year; if your son or daughter would like to be part of this wonderful tradition please read the 'how to join' page.
