I am a Bioinformatics MSc student from Lund University. Currently, I am working on my master’s project at the Computational Biology Lab (CBL) at DCRC under the supervision of Thilde Terkelsen and Matteo Lambrughi. My work here at CBL will be to investigate the molecular mechanisms related to the pro – and anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family of proteins in different cancer types.

Through this work we aim at unveiling the Bcl-2 signature in cancer, taking into account two major mechanisms that can be linked to its dysregulation: i) changes in expression levels or ii) changes in the coding sequence that impact on the protein product. We thus hope to discover in which cancer (sub)types or stages, certain Bcl-2 genes and their interactors are down- or up-regulated, as well as in which of them they are altered in the coding sequence. Moreover, we will predict if these alterations are likely to act as cancer drivers or are just mere passenger mutations that accumulated without any real consequences.
