Isabelle da Piedade

I am senior postdoctoral researcher in Elena's group at the Computational Biology Laboratory (CBL), Danish Cancer Society Research Center (DCRC) in Copenhagen, Denmark. I have a PhD in bioinformatics from the University of Copenhagen and a MS in computer science from the University of Aix-Marseille, France.

I have strong computational skills and prior experience with large data sets under Unix environment, as well as Perl/Python, R and relational database skills. I also have experience with application of statistics, machine learning and multi-omics data integration methods. During my PhD, I mainly designed and implemented DISPARE, a discriminative pattern refinement algorithm for position-weight matrices representing transcription factor binding sites in promoter regions of genes using synthetic and ChIP-seq data. As a postdoctoral researcher, I worked on comparative genomics within two bacterial families Pasteurellaceae andStreptococcus profiling phylogenetic marker genes such as the 16S rRNA gene and analyzing RNA-seq data at the University of Copenhagen and at Monash University, Australia

Together with Elena's group, we are interested in developing innovative computational approaches for analysis of high-throughput experiments such as metabolomics, proteomics, high-throughout sequencing performed on tumor microenvironment in breast cancers. Moreover, I work on the prediction of the effects of mutations in hereditary melanoma.
