I am Ágota Tóth, an Erasmus Master student at the Computational Biology Laboratory (CBL). I am an MSc student at Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE), Budapest, Hungary. My high school studies and my Bachelor (Molecular Bionics at PPKE) have given me a solid background in informatics and a good understanding of biology. During my Master, I am working at MTA-SE Molecular Biophysics Research Group where I gained the basics of structural biology.
At CBL, I have an opportunity to learn more about structural biology to strengthen my knowledge. In particular, I am studying the BH3-like domain of the ubiquitin-like, intrinsically disordered ATG12 protein with molecular dynamic and metadynamic simulations. In addition, I am participating in the study of other BH3-like proteins to understand the effects of cancer germline or somatic mutations on their function. During the analysis of the results of these simulations, I have been contributing with the development of Python scripts for post-processing and analyses of the simulations.
