Mette Vistesen

I am an experienced researcher specialized in the field of human disease biology and biomedicine. I initiated my PhD at DCRC in May 2015 after graduating from Copenhagen University with a M. Sc. in Molecular Biomedicine. My Master’s degree included a 22 months long thesis period, where I attained profound work experience in the establishment and execution of a scientific research project.

As a part of my PhD-project, I am involved in the development of a platform enabling the integration of in silico mutagenisis analysis with assigned protein characteristics such as interaction domains or PTM sites. This initiative includes exploring different open-source prediction tools analysis the impact of SNPs on protein function and stability, data processing, and integration of a broad variety data extracted from many different databases. I will then validate them through cellular biology and in-vivo studies on cancer model systems in the Unit of Cell Stress and Survival at the DCRC, headed by Francesco Cecconi.
