Today's post is just a few photos of places in the Stanislaus National Forest and Yosemite National Park that are now gone, at least for many years into the future, because of the Rim Fire.
Kibbie Falls as the Creek empties into Lake Eleanor. Completely burned. Lake Eleanor from the near end of the dam.
Hiking out through a sunny snowstorm on the trail from Miguel Meadows Lake Eleanor from the trail from Cherry Lake
Near Gravel Pit Lake Gone--the forests above Laurel Lake Kolana Rock and the forest behind. The fire burned all the way through this to the lake yesterday.
