Extension Notre-Dame-des-Pins to St.Georges / 2012-2015
While the St.Georges road construction was underway, construction began to the north in the village of Notre-Dame-des-Pins. The work area began near 57th street in St.Georges northward to Notre-Dame-des-Pins on around 5 kilometers.This project included the construction of a massive bridge spanning over Gilbert River and a local road as well as an overpass over 20th street. The project costed an estimated 140 millions.
In 2012, the roadway started to take shape and the base of the future highway bridge over Gilbert River were also begun. Throughout 2013, the tall bridge structure gained in height in the village skyline. The road work kept going on and the shape of the future highway became clearer. The deadline for the entire work to be complete was August 2015. Finishing touches were done until November and the road finally opened on November 11th 2015.
