This first appeared after the ARcive was first launched ...

---

After creating something like this, there may be an expectation that the creator will attend to the creation. Well, let me put that idea to rest. You will likely see less and less of my presence as this project matures. (Given my limits, I am glad to trust God with these aspects of Apologia's ministry. He's done far beyond all I can ask or think already.)

Thus, I thank God for Apologia volunteers Susan and Kay who have been working with me here. They are making the ARchive possible. As the years have shown, I've never been able to pull off anything like this on my own.

The Apologia ARchvie wouldn't exist without interested others. For as long as I have been a career apologist, I've had brighter lights around me with the result being that I appear to shine some myself.

I'm just planning to pump in more content while I pray for even more help to develop this beast further. I am frequently reminded that this project could eat me alive -- and also swallow two or more of my clones, were there any to chew on.

Perhaps you are wondering, "Why didn't you create this database using your own web site (apologia.org) instead of using Google?" Answer: I was more fussy than skilled, and more poor than both.

For a long time I despaired of ever being able to come up with anything as good as this on my own. (Apologia is a small outfit. Since it began in 1995, I've been the only paid employee, and now I'm only part-time here and have a full-time "day job" as an acquisitions librarian as well.) Overall, I've had a lot of fun with this project, and I thank God for the chance to see it become a reality. I've finished the race (well, at least this leg of it). Everything I can add will be gravy on top of it all from here on out.

Here's to the hope that many find the ARchive a feast.
