Lesson: Practise Being Godly
The Greastest Treasure
"If he is rich, he should be proud because God has shown him that he is spiritually poor. The rich person will die like a wildflower in the grass. The sun rises and becomes hotter and hotter. The heat makes the plants very dry, and the flower falls off. The flower was beautiful, but now it is dead. It is the same with a rich person. While he is still taking care of his business, he will die. When a person is tempted and still continues strong, he should be happy. After he has proved his faith, God will reward him with life for ever. God promised this to all people who love him."
James 1:10-12
Key Themes:

Although we don't own this follow up book by Joseph Anthony, I found a video of the story you might enjoy listening to.

Have you been on a dandelion hunt yet? We took Kobi for her daily walk and saw quite a few dandelions. Have a look at some of the photos below. You might like to send me a photo of some dandelions you find on your walk. Don't forget to collect a seedhead so later you can plant a seed in a pot and watch it grow. You could also make a craft with some of the bright yellow flowers.
These dandelion plants have grown right next to someone's fence. They are at various stages of the lifecycle.
Can you see some flower buds about to open? There is also a seedhead on one plant.
You can often find many dandelions in the bush during spring.
I wonder if some butterflies or bees have been to drink form these flowers?
This lonely seedhead had a very very long stem. Wow!
It was reaching through the tall grass to get the best rays of the sun.
Can you spot the dandelion plant among the grass?
How many dandelion flowers can you see in this bunch?
Planting A Rainbow
by Lois Ehlert
Grow your own Dandelion
Find a dandelion seedhead
You will need a container with a drainage hole, potting mix and gardening gloves.
Make a slight indentation in the centre of the soil.
Carefully pull off one seed.
Place the seed in the hole and gently cover with a little more soil.
Water your seed a little and place in a sunny spot. Keep the soil moist but not soaked. Watch and wait!
Dandelion Lifecycle Craft
Colour the various pictures like they are in real life.
Carefully cut around each circle.
Before you glue, place the various pictures in the correct order. Check you have the lifecycle correct.
Glue each stage of the lifecycle onto the blue page. Explain to someone in your family the Dandelion Lifecycle.
Optional Activity
Dandelion 'Lions'
You may like to cut out some very small yellow circles (paper or card) and draw a lion's face. Paste the face onto the head of a dandelion flower.
Make sure your circle is smaller than the flower so the 'mane' can be seen around the face.
Circles and Strips
You can follow the steps below or choose to create your own masterpiece using the circles and strips. Have fun.
