Before we can pay you for any training/mentoring sessions attended, you need to create a myJobshop account, as well as satisfactorily completing an ‘Eligibility to Work’ check with myJobshop You will then receive a booking offer which you will need to accept to allow you access to your weekly timesheets for mentoring.
For each face-to-face session that you perform, you will be paid approximately £48 + holiday pay. Payment goes directly into your bank account on the last working day of each calendar month. You must submit a ’weekly timesheet’ via myJobshop each week detailing the total number of hours you have worked.
Within your 4 hour mentoring timeslot you will be in school for approximately 3 hours. We expect mentors to prepare for mentoring sessions in advance through preparation of resources or research. Therefore mentors are paid for 3 hours in-school mentoring and 1 hour preparation.
As such you should claim 4 hours per mentoring session.
All claims MUST be received no later than the Sunday of the mentoring week
You are responsible for submitting your own weekly timesheet
You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate – incorrect claims will be rejected with an explanation why
All Lead Mentors & Mentors attending CPD/Training sessions are paid at Grade 2.2

Lead Mentors attending mentoring sessions are paid at Grade 3.3
Please keep a record of your claims
If you have any problems submitting your form or any questions contact the Team: mentoring@sheffield.ac.uk or myjobshop@sheffield.ac.uk

A: Go to https://www.myjobshop.shef.ac.uk/ and select 'Student Log in' which will then take you to the initial registration page if you haven't already registered. You do not have to upload a CV although we recommend doing so if you wish to be considered for future work.
A: Normally within a day or two (apart from over the weekend when Jobshop is closed), you will receive a booking offer notification for the role of Mentor and/or Lead Mentor via email. Login to myJobshop using your university email address and the password you created during registration (not your MUSE password) and select 'Begin Second Stage Registration' - this will involve filling in bank details, further personal details and lastly, accepting the offer of work.
To complete registration, you will need to take your Eligibility to Work (ETW) documents into the Jobshop. A list of acceptable documents can be found here.
If you accept any further offers of work after these stages have been completed, you will not be required to bring your documents into the Jobshop again - unless your visa has expired or is due to expire. You are also not required to complete second stage registration again if you accept any further offers, as the system will have saved your details from when you initially completed it. You will just need to skip to the last page and accept the offer of work so we are able to create time sheets for the work.

However, at this stage, you will not be able to see when the time sheets were authorised by the department, therefore you will not know whether they were authorised before the payroll cut off date for that month.
Hopefully, you will soon have more visibility in terms of seeing when time sheets have been authorised, as and when developments are made to this part of the system.
A: Complete your time-sheet as usual, it will be authorised along with your following months time-sheets. You will then get paid the month after i.e. two months in arrears (January work claimed in February will be paid at the end of March)
