As an Access Mentor you are required to behave in a professional manner at all times. We also want to ensure you and the young people you work with are protected, feel valued and work safely whilst taking part in this programme.
We have developed a Code of Conduct to ensure you are aware of what we expect from you in terms of Professional Behaviour, Child Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, and Health & Safety.
You are asked to read and sign the Code of Conduct form at Training in February. There is a reference copy in your Mentor Handbook and attached below.
The University employs students to work as Access Mentors, these students have a dual relationship with the University as both student and worker.
A Protocol has been set up to manage the dual relationship students have with the University. The Protocol includes the key principles and procedures of how to manage this relationship and has been developed by Human Resources, Student Services and Research and Innovation Services.
Please note that if a situation arises concerning a student's relationship with the University where the relevant student support department considers this would impact upon the student's working relationship with the University. Human Resources inform the department employing the student wand will advise of the necessary steps to be taken.
Please see below for a copy of this Protocol.
