To work as a Student Mentor you must be a current student of The University of Sheffield and registered as a casual student worker with myJobshop.
Registration with myJobshop as a casual student worker happens when you first join the programme, and they will check your eligibility to work in the UK, normally at the first training session. Once you are registered as a casual student worker, you can work for other departments and teams in the University without the need to register again. As part of registration you will read the Registration Agreement for Casual Work, but this agreement can be found here. https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/hr/guidance/contracts/cwa
As a Mentor you will be asked to update your details with us on an annual basis, failure to do this will result in you being removed from the Access Student Ambassador mailing list.

Email casualpayroll@sheffield.ac.uk to request your P45 and include a postal address to send this to.
You get a P45 from your employer when you stop working for them. It's a record of your pay and the tax that's been deducted from it so far in the tax year. It shows:
Your tax code and PAYE (Pay As You Earn) reference number
Your National Insurance number
Your leaving date
Your earnings in the tax year
How much Income Tax was deducted from your earnings
A P45 is only sent to you if we know that you are no longer a casual worker i.e. you are no longer accepting work and being paid by the University (including departments. You will only receive a P45 once all payments have been made.
In the UK and Ireland, a P60 (End of Year Certificate) is a statement issued to taxpayers at the end of a tax year. You do not need to request this, it will be sent automatically.
