🎭 Hamilton Theatre Trip🎭
Our recent trip for Year 9 and 10 Drama students to see the spectacular musical 'Hamilton' in the West End was a resounding success!
Witnessing this production offered invaluable insights into various theatrical elements directly relevant to their studies in BTEC Performing Arts and in Year 9 MYP Theatre. Students observed a masterclass in innovative staging, choreographic complexity, and the effective use of Lin Manuel-Miranda's musical storytelling to convey historical narratives. This provided a powerful real-world example of professional performance standards and production design, enriching their understanding of both technical and creative drama components.
Furthermore, the students' behavior was exemplary throughout the entire outing. Their maturity and engagement were noted by theatre staff, making the experience a pleasure for everyone. We were thrilled to be 'in the room where it happens' and are confident this experience will significantly spark their future coursework and creative ambition!

What a spectacular evening we had at our 'Night at the Movies' Winter Showcase! Our students truly shone, transporting us to the magic of the silver screen with their incredible talents.
The students performed two shows, one to an audience of enthused year 6s from Oakfield Primary school students and their final show to proud friends and family! Some of the comments included:
"I really enjoyed the singer. I thought she was amazing! The choir was great too."
"I thought that the Mr Bean drama was really funny. I liked that one the best!"
"They were all really brave getting up on the stage. They all knew when to come on and remembered their words. I hope we all get a part in our production to so we can go up on the stage like they did."
The Drama Club delivered captivating scenes inspired by classic films, while the Classical Texts Club brought dramatic cinematic gravitas to ancient narratives. Our Choir filled the hall with stunning renditions of iconic movie soundtracks, and our talented solo musicians provided beautiful, memorable performances that truly set the scene.
A huge congratulations to all the students involved! Your dedication, hard work, and brilliant performances made the night an outstanding success. We also extend our sincere gratitude to all the parents for their invaluable support in making this such a memorable event. It was a truly magnificent showcase of our school's vibrant performing arts community!
