The Winter Gardens at Sir Geoffrey Leigh Academy, recently served as a profound venue for a musical celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights. This event was a deliberate and vital part of the Academy's commitment to its International Baccalaureate (IB) World School ethos, explicitly promoting cultural diversity and the IB Learner Profile attribute of open-mindedness.
In a special engagement, the school hosted live cultural music performances in the Winter Gardens over two mornings in October. The musicians, brought an authentic and moving soundscape to the heart of the academy. Our students experienced the distinctive tones of instruments and the music served to reinforce the festival's core message: the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. The rhythms and melodies, therefore, were not merely a show, but a meaningful cultural and spiritual experience
