Art club is new for 2025 and our students worked on a display for November remembrance.
Students worked with a variety of mediums, including ink wash, oil pastels and collage challenging them to use their artistic skills to communicate respect and historical connection.
A big thank you to all Art Club members for their focused and dedicated efforts, who are as follows: Isobella, Evie, Andreia, Amaya, Alyssa, Molly, Jack, Yeshanee, Vanessa, Imme, Lorelei, Ann Maria, Cody, Ogenemine, May, Lucy, Eloise, Aroush, Lillie, Lainey, Cesare, Rashindie and Daniela. Also and big thank you to our lovely Post 16 students, Kathy, Merci and Alexa Rose who created the background to complete the display.

Year 7 have been learning mark making techniques and applying their knowledge to a piece of homework under the theme of Family.
Year 8 have started to create posters for their theme: Save Our Saves, using designs from their own shell drawings and creation of font letters.
Year 9 have been creating work under their theme of Fragments, influenced by the artist Jim Dine.
KS4
Both the Fine Art and Photography groups have made a fabulous start to their GCSE courses, learning fundamental skills to enable them to create a high standard of work throughout the year and into Year 11.
Photography students have been learning how to create cyanotypes and make experiments with them.
Fine art students have been learning how to apply brush marks using acrylic paint.
We had a very successfully open evening for Year 6, welcoming them to the department with the theme of Life and Death. Our GCSE students were at the evening to answer any questions prospective parents and students had, as well as demonstrating their work.
Students have also been experimenting with their ideas, under the same theme of Life and Death for their coursework.
