The initial idea was to create spatial divisions between areas and build overhead passage so that the area below the passage serves as both a meeting place and a shaded area. Additionally, offer a central location for meetings and informal gatherings.
My design intent is to combine verandah and passage, I hope to create a space that can be used for both sitting and socializing. Using operable walls to link the area while preserving the elder's solitude. The central part of the site is a pavilion that acts as a multipurpose/gathering space for the activities of the elder.
The objective is to provide flexible, open spaces that can be easily adapted to meet the needs of the elderly. While fostering sense of community and safety. Using independent walls as partition, as well as used a sitting area for elderly to rest and interact with each other. Additionally, it encourages interaction across many places.
Seating spaces should be designed with the physical and social needs of the elderly in mind. This means ensuring that seating is not only comfortable but also accessible. The sense of belonging is achieved through integrating seating areas with isolated walls into the architectural design of senior care facilities.
In the pavilion, I experimented with light and shadow.
