Kelve Road, Maharashtra, India.
I started studying the cluster on site that has a common backyard .
In this the units of the house formed a common backyard where programs like cooking, washing clothes, storage space were incorporated.
In this cluster the house units are connected through a corridor in the middle of the cluster.
In this cluster I found an interesting module, in which two house units is connected through a corridor.
With this I started to design a module which i would multiply to form a bigger cluster .
So initially I started with two units connected in 90 degree angles and tried to create a cluster with this.
But in this, i felt that the corners had a very sharp turn that created a visual disconnect
So I started shifting the individual units which created an angle 130 degree which created a smoother pathway.
The entier cluster/old age home is connected with a corridor.
The entrance is through series of common rooms like the reception and the library, and the corridor then leads to the entier cluster. Also the healthcare center in at the front of the site with the library, showcasing the public feature of the old age home, and all the living spaces are at the backend of the site.
All three clusters form a backyard space where there is a kitchen garden.
Also the cluster forms a backyard as a kitchen and dining space for the old age home, but also public to the people visiting mandir.
