Varsity Boys Basketball is Underway

On Monday November 11, 2024, the JV and varsity basketball season began. Their first game will be November 26, 2024 at Springport High School. The boys are looking to start out the season strong even though they have battled some adversity with injuries to start the season. 

Senior player Caleb Luck had this to say: “ The expectations coming into this year are to hopefully be better than last year and maybe take home a district title.” The expectations are pretty high for the team and they are looking to capitalize off of last year's performance. 

Basketball is a long season as it stretches from November all the way to March, so the boys are in for the long haul. The team will play 22 games in that stretch before districts take place and if they lose their season will end. 

The basketball team has a new coach this year, Marv Cox. That will be their fourth new head coach in four years, so there will be some adjusting to do. This year, the boys have several away games that will require significant travel, so traveling will have to be an obstacle to overcome. We are looking forward to the new season, so good luck to anyone participating.
