Math may not be for everyone, but for this group of people they love math enough they get to skip school for it. The high school Equations team is led by Mr. Zyla, and they have an upcoming meet on November 21 in which they will compete against other high school Equations teams. The middle school team will be competing as well, and this group is led by Mrs. Gunter.
How you play Equations is the officials give you a number, then you need to make an equation for that number by following the rules and ways of the game.
Faith Beardmore was interviewed about Equations. She was asked why she participates in Equations. Beardmore replied with “I did it a few years ago, but I am doing it now because it will look good for college, and I get to go to Culver's.” Beardmore was then asked about the usual length of an Equations meet. She said, “Normally you end before lunch sometime.” Lastly, she was asked why she would recommend others participate in Equations. She noted that "it's fun and you get out of school for it.”
