8th Grade math field trip

Our Math Department is thrilled to invite 8th Graders to the Mission Fed Junior Achievement Finance Park to participate in a finance simulation. On this field trip, students will explore careers, calculate incomes, and create a 1-month budget. This is an exciting opportunity for students to engage in real life scenarios that build financial confidence. Students will attend one date with their math class on either Jan. 20, 29, or 30 (see permission slip that was sent home with student). Field Trip Flyer

Permission Slip and Lunch Order Required:

With parent permission to attend, your student will be excused from all classes on the day of the event and they are responsible for any assignments missed during instruction (in classes other than math). Please return the permission slip to math teachers and complete this Lunch Order Form by: Tuesday, January 6th 2026.

fEDERAL IMPACT AID SURVEY

Paper forms will be sent home on 1/15/26. Here is a digital copy of the letter we sent home. Impact Aid is a federal program that helps schools like ours make up for the loss of local property tax revenue caused by federally impacted property—such as military bases or federal housing.

By completing this short survey, you directly help CPMA secure essential funding that supports student programs, staffing, classroom materials, and overall school resources. Every survey counts, and even if your family is not federally connected, your response still helps us meet the required participation rate.

The easiest way to complete this form is through the Parent Portal. Login, click on forms on the left hand side and select "Impact Aid Survey From". If you do not yet have a Parent Portal account, please fill out this form and we will send you your login credentials.

CPMA sd opera night- Barber of SEVILLE

Tickets:

• 🎟️ 50 tickets available

• Tickets are FREE

• Open to any CPMA students (first come, first served)

Date & Time:

• Wednesday, February 11, 2026

• Show begins: 6:30 PM

• Run time: Approximately 2.5 hours

Transportation:

• Students should meet the bus at 5:30 PM

• Location: CPMA bus lane

• The bus will return students to school at 9:45 PM

Pick-Up:

Parents should plan to pick up students at 9:45 PM at CPMA

***Permission slips are required- Permission slips are available in the main office and will be due on 2/10/26. Please fill out our RSVP form to claim your student's ticket.

CPMA SPRING SPORTS 

MSA Middle School Athletics  

Important spring season information: CHEER, WRESTLING, FLAG FOOTBALL

• Season start date: February 23 - tryouts

• Practices twice a week at the middle school (except wrestling who will practice at their clusters high school)

  • First contest: March 14

  • Contest dates: March 14, 21, April 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9

  • Regular season ends: April 26

  • Playoffs begin: May 2

  • Championships: May 9

Limited Spots:

Please make sure your student can commit to the full season. Practices 2x/week and games every Saturday at SDUSD high schools. 

VAPA Conflicts:

After-school arts rehearsals may overlap with sports. Arts take priority with on our dedication to arts programming. Coaches will prioritize students who can fully commit and who may not play with outside teams.

Practice Day Details:

• Line up at the PE gate after school Tues & Thurs Starting Dec. 1

• Check-in starts at 2:41 PM 

• Locker rooms are not available. Please come dressed and ready.

• Tryouts end at 4:25 PM

• Late bus leaves at 4:30 PM - SEE LATE BUS STOPS/ROUTES

Students are NOT assigned to a late activity route and may take the route closest to their house. Students are responsible to communicate with parents/guardians to plan accordingly.
