We have a 7th Grade opportunity to attend a swim lesson focused on drowning prevention at the Standley Aquatic Center. This OPTIONAL field trip will be on Thursday, October 9th, hosted by the PE Department with Coach Kastorff and Mr. Geoffrey Shimotsu. If you are interested in having your student attend this optional field trip, please read the information letter attached below for instructions. Space is very limited and reserved on a first come first serve basis. Permission slips were distributed in PE/Dance classes and extra copies are available for pick up from Coach Kastorff or Ms. Trinell in the main office. Mapping Creativity: Exploring GIS and the Arts, Thursdays- room 202
In this 6-day workshop, students will discover how Geographic Information Systems (GIS) can be used not only for science and geography but also as a creative tool in the arts. Through hands-on projects, group activities, and digital mapping exercises, students will learn how spatial data connects to music, visual art, literature, and performance. By the end of the course, students will have created their own artistic GIS-based project, blending maps with storytelling and artistic expression

ONLY students on the approved tryout list may stay after school to line-up at the PE gate on tryout dates. If you believe your registration is complete but you are not on the list, email gceledon@sandi.net to inquire by lunchtime to review your registration eligibility. Do not wait until after school to check your status. You may try the next school day to review your registration during lunch in the main office.

San Diego Unified School District has new guidelines for mobile phone use on school campuses to help to minimize student distractions, elevate academic performance and prioritize students' mental health and well-being. San Diego Unified’s guidelines were developed in accordance with California's Phone-Free School Act (Assembly Bill 3216), and after seeking significant input from students, parents, and educators. It was approved by the Board of Education on July 8, 2025 and will be in effect beginning the first day of the 2025-26 school year.
Phones must be turned off during the instructional program and be kept out of sight, such as in a student’s backpack.

Athletes that meet CPMA's Student Success Criteria by the 05/29/25 Semester 2 Report Card are eligible to tryout.
Spots on teams are limited. We ask families to strongly consider if their student can commit to the entire season's practice 2x a week and 2x games played every Saturday at SDUSD high schools.
VAPA after school rehearsals often conflict with sports practices and priority will be placed on our dedication to arts programming. Coaches will prioritize spots on CPMA Teams for students that can make the commitment AND those who may not have the opportunity to play with outside organizations.
