CPMA COmmunity Newsletter
November 26th, 2023
Hello CPMA Families,
I hope you all had a restful, reflective and gratitude filled week. We are excited to see our wonderful staff and students back to campus Monday November 27th.
This week we are highlighting our Core Value Growth and Perserverance. Our students have demonstrated growth as they enter the last grading period of the Fall Semester. We will be celebrating our scholars and citizens who have worked hard to make the right choices, shown growth in the artistic and academic work, and dedicate themselves to our performances. There is always room to grow and develop as we learn to overcome our struggles.
"The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight times." - The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
We won't always get it right the first time, and like Paulo Coelho says we must keep trying.
We need your feedback!
As we begin to prepare for our 2024-25 budget/staffing season we are requesting that all families complete a Parent Feedback form.
8th Grade Promotion Feedback Form- Let us know
Federal Impact Aid Survey
The district has extended the deadline for the Federal Impact Aid Survey. Please complete this survey through your PowerSchool Parent Portal by Friday, December 1. This is NOT the LCFF form that was completed at the beginning of the month. This is a DIFFERENT survey form that asks for information regarding housing. The Impact Aid Survey is critically important for helping our school and district receive funding. We currently have 382 missing forms and only 294 completed forms.
Here are the directions for completing it:
Select Forms from the left-hand navigation menu, then select 2023-24 Impact Aid Survey.
Follow the prompts and submit the form. Please be sure a confirmation appears before logging off.

If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please contact our office at 858-800-5550 or dcoleman@sandi.net
Thank you for supporting our school and helping us stay fully funded!
We thank our community for helping our site claim over $63,000 in federal dollars by completing the LCFF form.
Housing Questionnaire for Families
SDUSD is conducting a housing questionnaire to better understand the housing needs and challenges of our school community. This questionnaire is mandatory for all families and will help us provide support and resources for those who are experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness. A hard copy will be sent home Tuesday, 11/28.
The questionnaire is confidential and will not affect your child’s enrollment or education at our school. We respect your privacy and we are here to help you and your child succeed.
Please fill out the online form by clicking on this link: Housing Questionnaire Form. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Claudia Camacho at ccamacho@sandi.net
Thank you for your cooperation and participation.
LOTE Testing
On Wednesday, November 29, 2023 eligible students will have the opportunity to take the online LOTE Assessment. Eligible students will be notified via parent email, or letter delivered in class. Please email kgahan@sandi.net if you have any questions.
If a student Passes the "Language Other Than English" assessment (can be taken in any language), the student will be given High School Graduation Credit for their Language Requirement. This puts our students in a great place for excelling in High School! If you are interested in having your student take the LOTE, please fill out the LOTE Interest Survey.

CPMA COmmunity Newsletter
November 12th, 2023
Hello CPMA Families,
We had a great 4 day week that was capped off by a wonderful High School Enrollment Fair. We appreciate all the hard work of our 8th grade Counselor Lenci Tropila and our student support team for putting it all together to allow students to explore their high school options.
The 2nd Progress Reporting Period ended on Nov 9th. Students will receive their Progress Report on Friday Nov 17th. Parents can see their students grades online via Parent Portal at any time.
Remember No School November 20th-24th for Thanksgiving Break. Students will be back to campus November 27th.
This week we are highlighting our Core Value of Self Expression. Much of the work we do with students is to help them reflect on their actions and help them think about the self they want to portray to the world. At CPMA students are engaged in learning that centers around the CA Core Arts Standards where one of the foundational principles is "participation in each of the arts as creators, performers, and audience members (responders) enables individuals to discover and develop their own creative capacity, thereby providing a source of lifelong satisfaction. (Cde.gov.org)
We strive to create an environment where students learn about themselves and are able to communicate their authentic selves in a respectful, responsible, and reliable way.
