We want to remind our community that at CPMA we have a high expectation for behavior and community building. We are committed to campus safety and creating a safe campus community and a sense of belonging for all students. If a student is having trouble meeting these expectations, our Campus Support team in partnership with teachers and admin, will be holding our students accountable using our CPMA Restorative Discipline Plan. Please review with your student.
We encourage our students to be up-standers and if they "See Something, Say Something" to reduce bullying on our campus. We investigate all instances of bullying that are reported to our school site. If there are any concerns please email your students counselor or an AP, and or complete the bullying reporting form: Online Bullying Reporting Form
SDUSD Youth Advocacy and Ethnic Studies Departments is offering a brand-new student leadership opportunity for middle and high school students. The goal is to form a coalition of Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) students in our district to create the first-ever APIDA Board. Together, they will strengthen solidarity amongst APIDA students across SDUSD, network with local San Diego community leaders and peers, voice ideas on and shape district events and initiatives, and plan the annual APIDA Celebration in May, hosted by the district. See program YouTube video and flyer for more details. Students do not need to come from an APIDA background, as long as they demonstrate interest in learning about APIDA cultures and identities. The linked APIDA Application is due Friday, November 1st, at 11:59pm and it should take about 30-45 minutes to complete. Contact Arlene Nagtalon anagtalon@sandi.net with any questions!
Are you interested in the 8th grade trip? Check out the information here. the trip is tentatively scheduled for May 31st- June 7th. Join the meeting to learn about fundraising opportunities and trip details.

Welcome to the season of the Federal Impact Aid Survey for the 2024-2025 school year! As we wrap up Local Control Funding Formula survey (LCFF), we are now gearing up to begin the Federal Impact Aid survey which will be our second (and final!) for the Fall semester 🙂
The Federal Impact Aid Survey is another opportunity for CPMA and our school district to receive funding. LCFF is how we receive state level funding while Impact Aid is how we receive federal funding, with each submission being valued at $137. With these funds we are able to support our students to go on field trips, fund classroom supplies, support Special Education (SPED), and so much more!
The Federal Impact Aid Survey is available now via the Parent Portal.
To access this easy, five minute survey:
click on the “Forms” tab, located on the left hand side of the screen on desktop devices or bottom right tab on the mobile app
click on “Federal Impact Aid Survey”. A visual guide walking you through this process may also be found HERE.
If you don’t have a Parent Portal account or are having trouble accessing your account please contact rhenry1@sandi.net.
Completing this form online before Wednesday, October 23rd means that you will officially be off our calling and emailing list !
Families might’ve experienced first hand just how many regular phone and email reminders go out until forms are submitted. We will once again be sending regular reminders for Impact Aid; when the survey becomes available online, when paper copies are sent home with your student(s), and when the survey has yet to be turned in online or physically.
Help your student(s), and our CPMA community by getting our Federal Impact Aid in !
When your student is absent or if you plan to pick up your student early from school, please email CPMAattendance@sandi.net. This will support freeing up our phone lines for other needs.
We are pleased to invite your child to participate in one or more of our upcoming CORE ACADEMY Saturday sessions from 8am - Noon. This is a great way to make up missed class time or get extra support on assignments. For a list of dates and permission slips click HERE.

A theatre production comes to an end, the cast smiles and bows, and the audience stands and applauds. At that moment is recognition for hours of planning and rehearsals with students as actors, costume designers, prop masters, stage managers, backstage crew, light and sound technicians, including front-of-house seaters and greeters!
Come together CPMA Families for a fun evening, THE ALIBIS, on November 7th and 8th at 6:00 pm., the first show of the 2024-2025 production season.
The Conrad Avenue Arts Foundation (The CAAF) will start the evening on the PAC landing with live music by Ciavarelli's jazz students along with refreshments coined The Jazz CAAFe from 5:15-5:50 pm. Come early to the show and enjoy the student-led beats. Tickets to The Alibis will be on sale soon HERE. Do you want to dress for the occasion? Production t-shirts for The Alibis can be purchased and delivered to the school HERE.
Why theatre? Theatre arts education not only produces skilled performers and technicians but also builds confidence, strengthens communication skills, and fosters creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Are you a parent or guardian in the restaurant, event, or catering business? The CAAF would like to connect with you to learn how The CAAF, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, can work together to build community at CPMA. Email dsilvagarcia@sandi.net

Winter Season: Volleyball & Soccer
Middle School Athletics Winter 2024 Registration Link is now live and closes 11/01/24! Athletes that meet CPMA's Student Success Criteria by the 11/01/24 Progress Report (P2) are eligible to tryout. Spots on teams are limited. We ask families to strongly consider if their student can commit to the entire season's practice 2x a week and 2x games played every Saturday at SDUSD high schools. VAPA after school rehearsals often conflict with sports practices and priority will be placed on our dedication to arts programming. We will prioritize spots on CPMA Teams for students that can make the commitment AND those who may not have the opportunity to play with outside organizations.
Tryout Details:
Students that meet CPMA's Student Success Criteria and whose parent/guardian has completed the Winter Registration Link will receive a pink pass to line up at the PE gate for tryouts after school on (see dates below).
