Planning Update for Interested Families

Planning is officially underway for our next 8th Grade East Coast Trip! 🗽✈️

We are currently working with World Expeditions of San Diego to determine the best travel arrangement for our group. One possibility is for students to join another local middle school's East Coast expedition, which would allow us to travel as part of a larger group while maintaining the personal experience our students and families have come to expect.

Where Things Stand Right Now

We are optimistic that we may be able to join Standley Middle School's East Coast Expedition, which is currently being planned for approximately:

May 30 – June 6, 2027

However, space for our students has not yet been officially confirmed.

World Expeditions expects to have a clearer picture once participating schools complete their initial student registration process. As soon as our group's space is confirmed, families will receive official trip information, registration materials, payment dates, and deadlines.

What Might the Trip Look Like?

If we are able to join the current expedition, students can expect an incredible week traveling through some of the most historic and exciting destinations on the East Coast.

Potential experiences include:

Exploring Boston and walking the Freedom Trail

Visiting Plimoth Patuxet Museums

Touring historic Salem, Massachusetts

Experiencing Times Square and New York City

Visiting the Statue of Liberty, 9/11 Memorial, and One World Observatory

Attending a Broadway show

Exploring Philadelphia, Independence Hall, and the Liberty Bell

Touring the Gettysburg Battlefield

Trading the history books for life jackets during an exciting rafting adventure down the Shenandoah River

Visiting the U.S. Capitol and Library of Congress

Seeing the White House and Washington, D.C. memorials

Touring George Washington's Mount Vernon

Exploring museums of the Smithsonian Institution

This is much more than a sightseeing trip. Students get the opportunity to experience the places, people, ideas, and events they have studied throughout their education while developing independence, confidence, and lifelong memories alongside their classmates.

Estimated Trip Cost

The current partner-school expedition is approximately:

$3,560 per student

Please remember that this is being provided as a planning estimate only.

Our final CPMA price, registration fee, payment amounts, and payment deadlines will be determined once World Expeditions confirms that our group can be added to the tour.

For reference, the current package includes:

• Round-trip airfare

• One checked bag

• Seven nights of hotel accommodations

• Chartered motor coach transportation

• Breakfast and dinner on most travel days

• Sightseeing and attraction admissions

• Broadway show ticket

• Taxes and gratuities

• Nighttime hotel security

• Adult chaperone supervision

Families will also have the opportunity to make payments over several months rather than paying the entire trip cost at once.

What Should Families Do Right Now?

At this stage, you do not need to submit payment or complete registration paperwork.

If your family is seriously interested in participating, please begin considering whether the trip is something you would like your student to experience and begin planning financially around an estimated cost in the mid-$3,000 range.
