Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for giving us such a beautiful world that we can explore, enjoy and be responsible for. We have all been thinking this week of our favourite things and so many of them were created by you: the animals, the sunshine, all of the nature around us and our loved ones.
Please help us to remember these things when we are feeling worried or scared and need a little bit of courage to help us through some difficult times. Please also help us to remember that you are always there to guide us and we can turn to you for help, always.
Amen

Headteacher Message
This week at Sacred Heart…
Another busy and productive week at Sacred Heart!
We were very proud of our Junior pupils who attended Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday for the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul mass. Many of our pupils who made their First Holy Communion this year attended mass in their beautiful communion outfits – making a wonderful addition to the mass. A number of the congregation again complimented pupils for their reverent and respectful behaviour. Praise was also directed toward the pupils’ singing – particular recognition and thanks must go to our school choir (led by Mrs Elvidge) for their beautiful singing that filled the church. Thank you to parishioners and parents/carers who joined us for mass.
Pupils also participated in a wide range of sports events across the week. On Wednesday, a number of pupils represented Sacred Heart School very well at the Key Stage 2 Catholic Sports event at St Thomas More High School, competing against other pupils from across our Assisi Catholic Trust. We also had pupils attending the Super Sports event on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Today, pupils from our Infant school represent us at the Key Stage 1 Borough Sports event - and brought home a cup for 2nd place in their group!
Year 2 have enjoyed an off-site educational visit, with St Clare Class and St Francis Class visiting the Tower of London to complement their topic learning in school and their History curriculum. Again, pupils’ behaviour was praised by members of the public and our hosts at the Tower of London. Thank you children for being fantastic representatives of our school! Thank you also to parents/carers who could accompany us and support this trip.
Year 6 are working hard preparing for their Year 6 Production – we are greatly looking forward to sharing this with parents/carers. Thank you to all Year 6 pupils for your work so far – your parents/carers are certainly in for a treat!
Our final weeks of the school year are very busy indeed! Please continue to keep an eye on our school website calendar to keep up to date with upcoming end-of-year school events.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend!
God bless,
Mrs Mullally

Thank you to everyone who came to our Fayre on Sunday. Here we can see the winning cake that some of our families got to enjoy.
This week, Year 2 travelled by train to visit The Tower of London, seeing the the ravens and the crown jewels.
KS2 attended mass to mark the Feast of Saints Peter & St Paul this week. We also had some of our First Communion pupils attend in their beautiful outfits to mark the occasion.
Some pupils from KS2 attended Catholic Sports at St Thomas More along with all the other primary schools in the Trust. We are very pleased to report a wonderful performance by all pupils that attended, with some podium finishes as well.
School Money Payments
We would like to remind all our families that, as we near the end of the school year, that all payments must be up to date. Please take the time to log on to your accounts and settle any outstanding money.
School budgets are stretched to the limit at the moment and we cannot afford to cover outstanding parental payments. Year 6 especially must be up to date with their payments before they leave in the summer.
Thank you for your support - The School Office.

Regular attendance at school is vital for children to thrive. Missing school can have a significant effect on education with children missing key learning and having gaps in their knowledge and understanding. Wherever possible, please ensure your child is attending school every day! We like to reward positive attendance and currently have weekly and termly attendance rewards.
Every week, the best class attendance wins a cuddly toy for the week, a certificate, and an extra go on the play equipment!
This week's winners:
Each term the class with the highest attendance wins a pizza party with their class mates.
