Prayer
Dear God
Thank you for guiding us through our last year of primary school and keeping us safe. We are grateful for all the amazing opportunities you have given us throughout our time at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School.
We appreciate all you have done for Year 6, especially the awards we have just received and for our Leavers' Mass.
We only have a very short time left until the summer holidays. Please guide us as we start Year 7 and begin a new chapter in our lives at our new schools.
Amen

Headteacher Message
This week at Sacred Heart…
These closing weeks of the academic year are crammed with important events. Many, many thanks for on-going parental attendance and support of these special occasions - Reception sports morning; EYFS Welcome Meetings; Key Stage 1 Catholic Sports; Infant Prize Giving; Year 6 Prize Giving; Year 6 Leavers’ Mass, and much more...
Today, we have had a very exciting morning with pupils in Years Reception – Year 5 moving up to their new classrooms to have a taste of what their new year group will offer. It was lovely to see all the children’s excited, happy faces around the school throughout the day. Thank you to parents/carers for supporting and preparing your children. Today, we also had the pleasure of meeting some of our new Reception pupils and their families when they paid a visit to the school – we look forward to these new families joining our community in September.
God bless,
Mrs Mullally

What's Happening
This week, prizes were awarded to pupils who have worked hard to reflect the school's core values of Compassion, Faith, Achievement, Responsibility, Respect and Equality in the Infants. Well done to all pupils this year who have worked hard to always achieve their best.
Reception sports morning was a big success and the pupils, along with their adults, had lots of fun taking part in all the different activities.
SUMMER FAYRE - THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who supported our Summer Fayre. We had a great turn out on the day. Also, thank you for your many contributions leading up to the event that made it such a success.
We are pleased to announce that we have raised an amazing £3,070.16! This money will go towards our school fund and will be spent on the children.
We would once again like to thank parents/carers and local businesses for their donations and support.
Many thanks also again to our amazing team of FOSH members for your organisation of this great school-community event.
School Money Payments
We would like to remind all our families that, as we near the end of the school year, that all payments must be up to date. Please take the time to log on to your accounts and settle any outstanding money.
School budgets are stretched to the limit at the moment and we cannot afford to cover outstanding parental payments. Year 6 especially must be up to date with their payments before they leave in the summer.
Thank you for your support - The School Office.

Attendance
Regular attendance at school is vital for children to thrive. Missing school can have a significant effect on education with children missing key learning and having gaps in their knowledge and understanding. Wherever possible, please ensure your child is attending school every day! We like to reward positive attendance and currently have weekly and termly attendance rewards.
Every week, the best class attendance wins a cuddly toy for the week, a certificate, and an extra go on the play equipment!
This week's winners:
Each term the class with the highest attendance wins a pizza party with their class mates.

Essex Fire Museum
The Essex Fire Museum (situated behind Grays Fire Station) are having two family open days on Sunday 25th June and Sunday 30th July.
There will be opportunities for families to get involved in history trails around the museum, spot hazards in our new fire safety room, partake in craft activities and a sit on our fire engines (and squirt water😊).
The museum is free entry (but visits are by appointment only……..as we are on the site of an operational fire station).
If families are interested, could they please email us at museum@essex-fire.gov.uk and tell us the number in their party and the time they would like to arrive (we are open from 10.30am to 4.00pm). This is just because we like to keep the station informed of numbers throughout the day.
