Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for helping us to understand the true meaning of Black History Month. You have shown us how to be compassionate and how to treat people the same no matter what race they are or whether they are different to us in any way.
You have created us all to be different and we thank you for our unique qualities and for helping us to make the right decisions. You guide us through our week and we promise to try hard to follow your example and always treat people with kindness and respect.
Amen

St Paul’s class – Year 6
Headteacher Message
This week at Sacred Heart…
This week, I have had the pleasure of seeing some of our youngest pupils during reading sessions and some of our oldest pupils during writing sessions. I was so impressed with the way in which pupils are working hard and I was very happy to see the pride and enjoyment that pupils were showing toward their achievements.
A big WELL DONE to Year 6 St Peter Class for your Class Assembly on Thursday this week. Thank you children for reminding us of the importance of helping and showing love and kindness to others. Thank you also to parents/carers who were available to attend and support this event.
As you will be aware, October is Black History month and we are focusing on black history and why we celebrate Black History month. Through our assemblies this week we have been learning more about the effects of racism and how we should learn from the past to shape a more positive future.
Thank you for your support of our House Charity day, and for helping us to raise funds for CAFOD to help those around the world most affected by the global food crisis. Thank you to our Year 6 House Captains – Ormi, Zahara, Joseph, Betty, Franek, Phoebe, Teddy, Ibrahim, Liana and Seven - who took on the responsibility for the organisation of our International Day, our first school charity event of the year. (Please see their message of thanks below.)
God bless,
Mrs. Mullally

What's Happening at Sacred Heart?
Well done for all the children who dressed up on Friday for CAFOD there were some wonderful outfits and colours on display! We managed to raise around £300 for CAFOD so thank you again for all your donations.
We have been so lucky to have our own therapy dog, Bertie. Over the past few weeks, he has been seeing children and listening to them read. The children have loved their time with Bertie and he has loved them!
This term we have been having extra fun on the playground! Mr Jarvis has been organising many activities such as dodge ball and tag. The children have also been enjoying dancing, 4 square and parachute games.
