Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for choosing Mary as Jesus’ mother.
Please bring good luck to King Charles III and let him have a perfect coronation.
As we present flowers to Mary (our Mother) we will accomplish many achievements in our life by following her path. Let us pray for our Mother Mary.
We thank you Lord for this grateful world and a brilliant Mother that looks after our world and people. When we need help all we do is put our hands together and pray to Mary, Jesus and God
Amen

Headteacher Message
This week at Sacred Heart…
The school community came together this week for our special Crowning of Mary services. Each year in May, we crown a statue of Our Lady. Thank you to St Michael and St Gabriel Classes (Year 5) for leading the rest of the school at these important services on Thursday. Thank you also to Fr. Graham for leading the crowning service with us.
Today, pupils and staff greatly enjoyed our Coronation Celebration Day, with a whole school celebratory lunch on the playground and a glorious afternoon of global dance - to celebrate the diversity of the people of Britain that King Charles III will give service to. Thank you for your support in enabling your children to come to school dressed in red, white and/or blue to mark this special day. Many thanks also to all staff members - our catering and office staff, teachers and support staff, Mr Turner, Mr Wate, and particularly Mrs Crabb, for bringing together this joyous celebration for the children. We look forward to sharing our class dances with parents/carers on Sacred Heart Feast Day on 16th June.
We would like to wish all of our Year 6 pupils all the best for next week when they complete their SATs tests. We would also like to mention Year 2 pupils who are also working with their teachers to complete their teacher assessments. We know that you have all been working incredibly hard in your learning and that you want to do very well. Your teachers and support staff will encourage and support you during this time.
Wishing all our families a good weekend.
God bless,
Mrs. Mullally

What's Happening
Year 3 visited the church last week to learn more about Pentecost from Father Graham. They will take the new knowledge they learnt back to the classroom to inform their learning in Religious Education.
On Thursday, the school came together for the crowning of an image of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We spent time remembering that the greatest are those who serve with love.
Year 1 have been busy writing to King Charles III, to wish him luck and to ask him some questions about how he is feeling.
Breakfast Club and School Dinner Bookings
Please can parents and carers ensure that all bookings for school dinners and breakfast club are made in advance. Too many children's lunches are not being booked, on a daily basis, and this makes catering for the school very difficult. We are very conscious of food wastage being bad for the environment so we really do require all families to take the time to book their child’s lunches in advance. If booked on the day, we will not be able to guarantee their meal choice.
Also, Breakfast Club bookings must be made in advance to ensure sufficient staffing. Some children are arriving without bookings and this can be a strain on our staffing first thing in the morning.
All bookings must be made via School Money in advance and payment made where applicable.
Thank you

Attendance
Regular attendance at school is vital for children to thrive. Missing school can have a significant effect on education with children missing key learning and having gaps in their knowledge and understanding. Wherever possible, please ensure your child is attending school every day! We like to reward positive attendance and currently have weekly and termly attendance rewards.
Every week, the best class attendance wins a cuddly toy for the week, a certificate, and an extra go on the play equipment!
This week's winners:
Each term the class with the highest attendance wins a pizza party with their class mates.
