Bonjour à tous!
What a wonderful start to the year! We were excited to meet families at Sneek-a-Peek! We are both so thrilled to have such a great group of learners in our classrooms.
Welcome to our classroom Newsletter on Google sites for both Grade 2 French Immersion classes.
Lookout for updates for this next week!
Please read the document attached for more information about the year ahead!
Note: Included in the letter is more information about our school routines, please read through it with your child carefully.
Reminders:
No classes on Monday September 5th
Regular scheduled classes begin for all students September 6th
We would ask that you send in a few items to help our learning this year:
Small flashlight that can be kept at school, labeled (dark reading for Friday's).
An old sock or white board eraser (to erase white boards/desks).
A small pair of headphones labeled in a Zip Lock bag.
Your child will be bringing home a folder with important papers in it. If this folder gets wrecked, please replace it (1$ at the dollar store). We will let you know through the newsletters when to check for forms or other documents in the folder. The students will get their folders and agenda's next week!
The agendas will be used for your child to track their home reading and to practice their words of the week. We can best be reached by email for communication.
Home reading:
We will be setting up an online home reading program soon, through Je Lis. We will be providing the login information into the front of the agenda once the program is set up.
This week in:
We are very excited to see all the students and we look forward to getting to know the students better this week!
Literacy: We will be reviewing our French sounds, beginning with the sound "a", and focussing on reviewing grade 1 vocabulary such as the alphabet in french, colours, numbers and school supplies. We will also use the sounds we look at this week to make sentences and practice our writing!
Numeracy: We will be reviewing our numbers in French! We will be focused on numbers 0-20. We will begin with practicing them orally and representing them in a variety of ways.
Art: Self-portrait of students to represent and celebrate what makes us unique!
Études-Socials: Introduction to learning about Canada and our Province in which we live.
